Frequently Asked Questions

What is Micro-blading?
Micro-blading is a manual method used to deposit small amounts of ink in the superficial layer of the skin. It is considered by many to be a semi-permanent tattoo, however, you will always have ink or the shadow of ink in your skin.

How long does it last?
Your micro-blading will last as long as it’s maintained. Untouched, the ink will remain as a shadow in your skin.

How often do I need a touch up?
Touch ups are recommended every six months to a year, to keep the color fresh and the strokes crisp.

Does it hurt?
There is some minor discomfort associated with the procedure. A topical anesthetic of 5% Lidocaine is used to numb the area. People say the sensation is similar to getting threaded.

Can I proceed if I am pregnant or breast feeding?
No, cosmetic tattooing is not recommended during pregnancy or breast feeding. The main concern with getting a tattoo during pregnancy is the risk of contracting an infection, such as Hepatitis B and HIV. Although the risk is small, it is recommended that you wait to get a tattoo until after your baby is born.

What should I do to prepare for my procedure?

  • No waxing, sugaring threading or tweezing of your brows 3-5 days prior to your appointment.

  • No caffeine the day of your appointment

  • Do not take any aspirin, Naicin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen 24 hours prior to your appointment, this can alter the pigment retention in your skin.

  • Do not work out the day of the procedure

  • No alcohol at least 24-48 hours prior to your procedure.

  • If you are having an eyeliner procedure and have hyper sensitive eyes, watery eyes, plugged tear ducts or severe allergies, this may not be the procedure for you. Our eyes produce saline-salt water and this WILL cause the area treated to fade or not take the color at all. Additional procedures may be required (we charge for any additional appointments, including touch-ups).

What should I do after the procedure?
An aftercare instructions will be given to you after the treatment is complete.

How long does it take?
The procedure takes roughly about two hours, sometimes more sometimes less. Please allow a solid two hours for your appointment. We likely won’t need that much time, but this isn’t something we want to rush.

Do I need to take a day off work?
Eyebrows - No. There’s no downtime associated with the treatment. Redness and swelling will dissipate within an 1-3 hours afterwards. Your brows will appear darker initially, but not so dark that you will be prevented from your activities of daily living.

Eyeliner - puffy eyes is common after eyeliner procedure, I refer to it as "social" downtime, you can still function normally, however uour eyes may be puffy or swollen which most people would want to take a day off work. That is your decission.

How long does it take to heal?
Healing time varies from individual to individual. Usually, it takes about a week to ten days for the epithelial crust to form and slough off. Your skin will be considered healed after that happens. Then, the pigment takes some time to settle into the skin. A good month should pass before we consider the process complete.

What’s the process like?
A complete consultation is done to begin, health and medical history. I then take your before picture, measure your face for brow placement and start drawing the brows on. This process can often take 30-60 minutes to ensure that we are both happy with the shape. Then the color is chosen that best suits your skin tones after that the micro-blading process begins! I use anesthetic which makes the process virtually painless. (I had mine done and almost fell asleep)

Micro-blading is a two step treatment, consisting of an initial procedure and then a touch up four to six weeks after.
During healing, it's normal to experience some pigment loss; this is why we have the touch up in place. The process is generally considered to be complete 4 weeks after the first touch up. However there are times when a third touch up may be required.

What can’t I do after the procedure?
You are advised to keep the skin clean and dry - that means no swimming, sweating or otherwise getting the area wet; no tanning or prolonged sun exposure; no picking or peeling the tattoo. You can still wash your hair and face and once they’re healed up, you treat them as your own.

What if I need another touch up within a few months?
This can happen, sometimes getting a perfect brow shape can take a few touch ups. There is a minimal supply fee of $50 for these visits. Every persons skin type and color retention is different.

How do I book an appointment?
Contact Ink Blossom clinic thru the website or via text message or phone call. A NON-refundable deposit of $150 is required to complete all bookings.

I had my brows micro-bladed elsewhere, do you work on other artists work?                                                                                                        I will work on other artist work, after a consultation and prices may vary.
